Exciting performances to celebrate the introduction to opera season.
It’s a new opera season in New York, and WQXR's Operavore welcomed the Metropolitan Opera to The Greene Space for an evening of favorites by Verdi, Rossini, Mozart and more, featuring Met Opera stars Guanqun Yu, Audrey Luna, Kathleen Kim, Isabel Leonard, Alek Shrader, and Ildar Abdrazakov. During the event there was a preview of two of the Met’s new fall productions, Un Ballo in Maschera and The Tempest, with director David Alden and composer Thomas Adès. An audience joined in for intimate performance space – The event was an example of the Met up close!
