Get an inside look at this summer’s anticipated revival of Terrence McNally’s “Master Class,” starring Tyne Daly. The Tony-winning drama takes us into the world of soprano Maria Callas, one of opera’s most celebrated, most reviled and most controversial singers. WQXR's Elliott Forrest will lead a dynamic and intimate conversation with Tyne Daly, who portrays Callas, and director Stephen Wadsworth. In addition, cast members Olivier Award nominee Sierra Boggess (Love Never Dies, Broadway’s The Little Mermaid) and Garrett Sorenson (featured performer in Boris Gudonov at the Metropolitan Opera) will perform arias from the play accompanied by fellow cast member Jeremy Cohen.
After Words, a discussion and performance series currently presented in collaboration with WNYC, is part of Manhattan Theatre Club’s continuing effort to deepen and enrich the play-going experience for the theatergoing community. Discussions featuring writers, cultural critics and journalists, provide provocative and illuminating insights into the political, cultural, and artistic contexts of the work Manhattan Theatre Club produces.
Master Class received its Broadway premiere at the John Golden Theatre on November 5, 1995.
