Craft Beer Jam 2013: Queens Craft Breweries

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

7:00 PM

Join us for an evening of beer-focused conversation, consumption and celebration! There are four licensed breweries in Queens right now, while only one year ago there were none. Tonight we’ll find out why the borough has become a brewing hotspot, taste its best beers, and find out what it’s like to start a brewery in NYC.

Your host for the evening is Jimmy Carbone, owner of Jimmy’s 43, host of "Beer Sessions Radio" and co-founder of The Good Beer Seal. He’ll convene a panel of experts that will include Robby Crafton of Big Alice Brewery, Rich Castagna of Bridge & Tunnel Brewery, Ethan Long of Rockaway Brewing CompanyChris Schonberger of First We Feast and Brian Dwyer of SingleCut Beersmiths.

Everyone will get a taste of Queens’ best beers from the brewers on our panel as well as snacks from Bobolink Farms to pair with them. After the panel concludes, you’ll be drinking to a soundtrack of live music by self-proclaimed ‘funk-blast warriors’ from Queens, The Great Apes. Last year they were awarded the ‘Audience Choice’ award at our 2012 Battle of the Boroughs, where the combination of J.Trom’s soul-man howl with the group’s electro-funk force electrified fans on the dance floor!
