7:00 PM

Cuban piano master Chuchito Valdés joined us in The Greene Space for a two-part evening that included a live recording session for his next album. Watch on-demand video of both performances below:

Part One
Chuchito, accompanied by a 14-piece Latin jazz band, performs arrangements of his grandfather's legendary music from the Tropicana of the 1940s and 50s. With conversation hosted by Helga Davis.

Part Two
Chuchito performs his own energetic blend of music with his Latin jazz band. Hosted by Helga Davis.

The Greene Space presented a full night of music, as Chuchito honored the legacy of his grandfather Bebo Valdés, a force in the world of Cuban music who passed away this year. With influences of Caribbean rhythms and jazz, Chuchito creates an exciting and energetic blend of music that consistently excites audiences all over the world. He invited New Yorkers to be a part of this exclusive experience, paying homage to his grandfather and performing music from his contemporary repertory in this live recording session for his next album.
