5:30 PM

Over the course of its 35-year career, the Emerson Quartet has forged an unparalleled path, making over 40 recordings and collecting an unprecedented nine Grammy Awards along the way. This spring marks the release of the group’s latest CD, Journeys, and the departure of its long-time cellist, David Finckel.

Join the Emerson Quartet in The Greene Space, in their final public New York City appearance with cellist David Finckel, as they discuss their legacy and plans for the future. The quartet will perform music of Schubert, Schoenberg and Tchaikovsky, including an excerpt from Tchaikovsky’s beloved Souvenir de Florence featuring guest artists Paul Neubauer on viola and Colin Carr on cello. WQXR’s Jeff Spurgeon hosts.
