Sara Schaefer Live

WNYC and the New York Comedy Festival present a night of improvisation and conversation

9:00 PM

The New York Comedy Festival and WNYC present Sara Schaefer in The Greene Space for a live taping of her new WNYC podcast, LIES. She'll be joined by Mike Doughty, singer-songwriter, author and former Soul Coughing frontman.

On the surface, LIES. sounds like just another interview show. But host Sara Schaefer demands something different from her guests: everything they say has to be a lie. The only true thing you’ll hear in each episode is Sara’s description of her guest. Everything else is totally fake, and totally improvised. In a world over-saturated with confessional-style podcasts, LIES. finally gives public figures a chance to reveal absolutely nothing...and perhaps everything at the same time.

Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to be a part of the laughs…and the outtakes.

Created in 2004, the New York Comedy Festival is a five-day festival featuring more than 200 comedians performing in more than 60 shows at more than 20 venues throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The festival is produced by Carolines on Broadway in association with Comedy Central.

Sara Schaefer is a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, writer, and producer currently based in Los Angeles. She was recently the co-host of MTV’s late night show Nikki & Sara Live. Sara has appeared on @Midnight, John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Best Week Ever, and Inside Amy Schumer. She won two Emmy awards for her work at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and has written for BestWeekEver.tv and Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. That's all true.
