Vermont’s storied Marlboro Music Festival is a mecca for the finest young musicians in the world, and this year, its touring arm, Musicians from Marlboro, celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Join us for a 50th birthday celebration featuring Jonathan Biss and Ieva Jokubaviciute, piano; Anthony McGill, clarinet; Marcy Rosen, cello; Robin Scott, violin; and Sarah Shafer, soprano, performing two Marlboro signature pieces: Schubert’s Shepherd on the Rock and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D minor. Four of the artists will be heard on this season's tours and all have been frequent MFM participants. Hosted by WQXR’s Jeff Spurgeon.

You can also watch a live video webcast at 7pm:

Since their inception, the Musicians from Marlboro tours have introduced such great talents as Mr. Biss, Yefim Bronfman, Jeremy Denk, Pamela Frank, Richard Goode, Jaime Laredo, Murray Perahia, Paula Robison, András Schiff, Peter Serkin, Richard Stoltzman, Christian Tetzlaff, Benita Valente and Harold Wright, among others. They have also included other exceptional artists now heard in the Brentano, Chicago, Emerson, Guarneri, Johannes, Juilliard, Orion, Miami, Muir, Tokyo, St. Lawrence and Ying Quartets, and the Beaux Arts, Eroica, Mannes, and Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trios and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
