New York is no stranger to fine dining, but rarely does the talent and menu divine from a source as unique as Chef José DeJesus, aka “Trill Cooker”, a Bronx native with a personal mission of creating world-class culinary experiences that put his home borough on the map.
And for the first-time ever, you can experience this evening-long celebration of food downtown, at The Greene Space, which we’re transforming into a *one-night-only* pop-up restaurant!
Expect to gain unrivaled access to one of New York’s rising culinary stars, who for this rare event will blend music and a live demonstration with a fresh 5-course menu with wine pairings.
About the Chef:
Chef DeJesus, also known as Trill Cooker, is the force behind the progressive Bronx cuisine pop-up, Breaking Bread, recently featured on NBC, Gothamist, Un Nuevo Dia, and Hell’s Kitchen Season 18. His recipes – like his personality – are dynamic, lively and ambitious, featuring high-concept delights that evoke exceptional flavor (with the occasional overture to his Puerto Rican heritage).
Breaking Bread is a secret dining society hosted in various venues throughout the Bronx. Until a day before the event, everything is a secret from the location to the multi-course menu. Past locations include the Bronx Public Library and Bronx Hill Brewery. Everything from the utensils to the stove is brought in to create the makeshift open kitchen. From every seat, diners can see the dishes prepared while a band or live DJ performs throughout the night.
Menu to feature seasonal, ingredient-driven selections, and may contain nuts, eggs, and shellfish. We cannot accommodate individual requests or substitutions.
