A Small Family Business
Director: Karin Coonrod

Sir Alan Ayckbourn is an Olivier, Tony and Moliere Award winning playwright who has written 75 plays, more than half of which have been produced in London's West End, as well as on Broadway and around the world.  As an acclaimed director, he has worked extensively in the West End and has also run his own company at the National Theatre.  The Greene Space presents a series of plays by this distinguished playwright in celebration of the enormous breadth of his work.

To continue this series, Karin Coonrod, award-winning international theater artist, will direct Ayckbourn’s compelling work, A Small Family Business:  a play about corruption, secrets and lies, in the middle and upper middle class. And all are guilty. An English family – caught red-handed at every turn – and a family of Italian men with no scruples...GREED. LIES. HYPOCRISY – a gripping evening of theater.

The Work of Alan Ayckbourn is presented as part of The Greene Space Initiative A New Theater of Sound in collaboration with Yorinks Theater Group.

A New Theater of Sound is made possible, in part, through the generous support of the Sidney E. Frank Foundation.

A New Theater of Sound

The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, in collaboration with Yorinks Theater Group, presents A New Theater of Sound with the aim to achieve a live, online and on air conversation driven by great theatrical work with sound at its core.

Our initiative as well as our goal for this site is to cast a view on the historical landscape of audio theater and ensue a dialogue about the genre to inspire, redefine, energize, and help blossom again what was once a fertile theatrical field in America.
