Laurie Metcalf, Daniel Stern and Playwright Sharr White take us behind the curtain of the Broadway thriller, 'The Other Place.'

WQXR's Elliott Forrest took us behind the curtain of the new Broadway play "The Other Place," sitting down with the stars of the Manhattan Theatre Club production on January 17.
Joining us in The Greene Space were three-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Laurie Metcalf ("Roseanne," "The Big Bang Theory," "November"); Daniel Stern ("The Wonder Years," "Home Alone"); and fast-rising playwright Sharr White, who tells Forrest he wrote the play on his train rides to work.
Variety called Metcalf's performance "dazzling," and a "must-see." She plays Juliana Smithton, a successful neurologist whose life seems to be coming unhinged. Her husband has filed for divorce, her daughter has eloped with a much older man and her own health is in jeopardy. But in this brilliantly crafted work, nothing is as it seems. Piece by piece, a mystery unfolds as fact blurs with fiction, past collides with present and the elusive truth about Juliana boils to the surface.
Watch the full conversation below to get a behind-the-scenes look at the riveting thriller, and to also hear what Metcalf has to say about a "Roseanne" reunion, whether Stern thinks there's a "City Slickers 3" in our future and if White is planning to write his next play on the Metro-North. This event is part of our ongoing Inside Look series.
