Ravel's Quartet in F Major: Orion String Quartet and Jennifer Nugent of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

MacArthur Genius Award-winning choreographer Bill T. Jones has been creating modern dances of profound urgency and relevance for over 30 years.

Continuing to push the boundaries, Jones has set several of his dances to classical music. The upcoming New York season of The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company at the Joyce Theater will be danced entirely to chamber music by Mozart, Schubert and Ravel, performed live by the acclaimed Orion String Quartet.

Bill T. Jones, the Orion String Quartet and dancers from the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company joined us in The Greene Space recently for an evening of exploration and celebration of the connections between the very modern and the very classic. Watch company dancer Jennifer Nugent perform to Ravel's String Quartet in F Major, played by the Orion String Quartet.
