Watch: Ayad Akhtar on Bringing His Pulitzer-Winning Play to Broadway

Friday, September 12, 2014

After a critically acclaimed run off-Broadway in 2012 and a Pulitzer Prize win in 2013, Ayad Akhtar's play "Disgraced" makes its premiere on Broadway this fall.

The play tells the story of a successful Muslim-American lawyer moving up the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his cultural roots. When he and his wife Emily, a white artist influenced by Islamic paintings, host a dinner party, what starts out as a friendly conversation escalates into something far more damaging.

Akhtar will sit down with WNYC's Leonard Lopate live in The Greene Space on Sept. 18 —  along with cast members Josh RadnorKaren Pittman, and Hari Dhillon — to give our audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the play. [Buy tickets here]. In advance of the event, he talked with us about the process of writing the play and bringing it to Broadway.

Win a pair of tickets to the play!

Leonard just stated 10 minutes ago on his show that there was a giveaway for tickets to this play. I have watched the video twice and cannot find a question or link to a question I can answer. Am I missing something?
