Available for viewing
In-person event

Overview

One of New York’s most innovative and acclaimed new chamber orchestras, The Knights conclude their stay as WQXR’s ensemble-in-residence with a live performance in The Greene Space. Hosted by Jeff Spurgeon, The Knights will present a varied program including Copland’s beloved Appalachian Spring; selections from Peruvian composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout; and Debussy’s orchestral arrangement of Satie’s Gymnopédie, as featured on the ensemble’s new album, The Knights: A Second of Silence. At the centerpiece of the program will be John Adams’s Christian Zeal and Activity, featuring new “found sound” that will be identified by The Knights through an imaginative crowd-sourcing contest. See www.wqxr.org/theknights for details on how to enter.
