Now That We’re Men: The Play

Thursday March 12 2020 • 7:30pm - 9:00pm ET
In-person event

Now That We're Men

Overview

In the weeks leading up to prom, the close friendships of five high school guys are put to the test…’cause Andrew must be gay, Marcus knocked up his girl, Derek’s falling in love, Nick is a little too addicted to fetish porn and Evan pushed a hook-up too far and downed a bottle of pills.

Join us for a performance of Now That We’re Men, a play born from conversations with teenage boys, laying bare what’s happening in high schools across the country. Their unfiltered stories — of adolescence, power, consent, porn, manning up and getting laid — come straight from the mouths of these guys, as they are figuring out what it means to be a man.

Written and directed by Katie Cappiello, creator of the upcoming Netflix series Grand Army. Co-directed by Charlotte Arnoux. Featuring Jordan Eliot, Caleb Grandoit, Alphonso Jones, David Lepelstat, and Rayshawn Richardson.

A talkback with the cast and creative team will follow the performance

The book Now That We’re Men: A Play and True Life Accounts of Boys, Sex, & Power, published by Dottir Press, is now available and will be on sale at the event.

One of the most stunning and powerful works I’ve encountered in decades of theatergoing. — Jonathan Marc Sherman, award-winning playwright
