In 2019, singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin took over our stage as The Greene Space’s fall/winter Artist-in-Residence, convening local performers and creatives, specifically highlighting women of color.

Inspired by the 19th century soprano Sissieretta Jones, whose innovative productions showcased her own unique vocals and her friends’ talents, McFerrin launched The Sissieretta Series — a curated show that was equally vibrant as it was uplifting.
