The Choral Mix Live: Brahms in Love & Loss
Conductor Kent Tritle
Johannes Brahms may be known as a Romantic-era heavyweight, but he had a light touch when it came to choral music. Kent Tritle (Music Director of the Oratorio Society of New York, Musica Sacra and the Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola) brings together members of nine city choirs for a one-night celebration of Johannes Brahms. They’ll perform the entire Liebeslieder Walzer – or Love Song Waltzes – an immensely popular and charming 18-part song cycle, as well as sections of Ein Deutsches Requiem for good measure. Accompanists are insiders’ favorites Nancianne Parrella and Scott Warren.
