Be good. When it’s a direction from parents to children, it means not doing anything bad. For adults, we also think about actively doing right by others: showing kindness, playing fair, giving respect.

Living by the golden rule gets complicated in a world where something as simple as buying a cup of coffee on your morning commute might be linked to human exploitation, unfair trade policies, environmental degradation, and supporting practices that directly contradict your principles.

Tonight we’ll dig into different perspectives on what goodness means, then whether and how it’s possible to live our values both in our personal and public lives in a consumer-based world. Journalist Angélique Roché (NBC News, Syfy Wire, Marvel) hosts, guests to be announced.
