In-person event

Overview

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join WNYC’s Brian Lehrer, Jami Floyd and Tanzina Vega for their first-ever live-streamed MLK special.

In collaboration with the Apollo Theater and March on Washington Film Festival, WNYC gathers luminaries and leaders in the fields of health, politics, journalism and more to address the implications of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election through the prisms of civil rights and modern day social justice movements.

Hear from House Majority Whip James Clyburn, journalist Nikole Hanna-Jones, New York Attorney General Letitia James, holistic health expert Queen Afua, “America’s psychologist” Dr. Jeff Gardere, Dr. Reverend William Barber Jr. and other special guests, who will lend a specific focus on the Black community’s historic and adversarial relationship with law enforcement and western medicine institutions.

Poet Leslé Honoré also performs.
