The Greene Space’s Inside Look Broadway conversation series continued on Thursday, February 27 with a sneak peek at the upcoming revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun” starring Denzel Washington.

WQXR’s Elliott Forrest sat down with director Kenny Leon and cast members Anika Noni Rose, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Sean Patrick Thomas to talk about the play, which will run for 14 weeks at the Barrymore Theatre – where the original production opened in 1959 starring Sidney Poitier and Ruby Dee.

Watch the entire conversation below to get a behind-the-scenes look at the casting and rehearsal process for the current production; hear cast members’ take on the enduring wisdom of Hansberry’s groundbreaking play; and learn how Leon is approaching this revival differently from past productions.
