Journalist-in-Residence Imara Jones continues her monthly residency in The Greene Space with The Future of Trans, a special Pride Month event. In a time of heated protests, intense social backlash and a global pandemic, envisioning a future for the trans community is a radical act. To honor this vision, Jones will premiere The Future of Trans, a documentary short, and lead a discussion with leading innovators and creatives in the trans and gender non-conforming communities.

The Future of Trans explores the bright future in store for trans and gender non-conforming communities in the realms of policy, art and innovation. Participants include Angelica Ross and Dominique Jackson (FX’s Pose); writer and performance artist Alok, YouTube star and activist Chella, musician Shea Diamond, writer Raquel Willis, activist Isa Noyola, artist Fatima Jamal, boxer Patricio Manuel, organizer Toni-Michelle Williams, and politician Aria Sa’id.

The screening will be followed by live discussions with artist Alok and photographer-model Richie Shazam.

The Greene Space is funded by you.
